One of the best renovation projects I have run across lately, successfully merging the old with the new.
The project I am highlighting today comes from Clayton and Little Architects. This little 1938 bungalow had a ton of charm but over time the homeowners decided it was simply too cramped at 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Instead of selling the house and moving on, the owners hired Clayton and Little to perform a bit of magic on their existing house: add a second story, modernize the space, all while maintaining the charm the original bungalow had. Additionally, both the owners and the architects wanted the updated house to still mesh with the existing neighborhood.
While some purists may turn their nose up at it, I think the end result is stunning and a very smart and classic renovation of this house. Enjoy!
