Gorgeous Mid Century Eichler Renovation

Happy Thanksgiving! Just passing along some Thanksgiving dessert.

Unfortunately I don’t know much about this project. What I do know is that it was done by Urbanism Designs and that it is a renovation of a Joseph Eichler house.

I really wish that I knew more about the background of this house, the owners, and some of the planning that was involved. At least we have some absolutely gorgeous pictures to drool over regardless. Renovating classic mid-century homes like these can be tricky; you are really forced to try and respect the original spirit of the house while still injecting some new personality as well. It is an art and I have certainly seen some jobs that made me cringe because the original style of the house was butchered.

Personally, I think this house was updated tastefully. What do you think? Too contemporary? Or do you agree that they did a great job “updating” while still respecting the mid-century time period?
